Norbert Bugeja

Norbert Bugeja is Associate Professor within the Department of English and Director of the Mediterranean Institute at the University of Malta. He has published extensively in the fields of postcolonial studies, cultural memory and autobiography, and the contemporary literatures of the Mediterranean. He has authored numerous essays, articles, book chapters and a book-length monograph on the liminal dynamics of memoir which have appeared variously from Routledge, Edinburgh University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, Brill Rodopi and others. He is a former International Advisory Board member of the Anna Lindh Foundation, former General Editor of the Journal of Mediterranean Studies and former Deputy Chair of Malta’s National Book Council. He is also a published poet, and his poetry collection Oublie qu’elle n’est pas là, translated by Irene Mangion, was published in France by les presses du réel in 2023.
